The Pride of South Callaway Marching Band capped off an impressive 2026 marching season by placing 3rd in the State at the Missouri State Marching Association Class 2A State Championships this past Saturday. This season, the Pride Band brought home 18 trophies for four different competitions. The Pride Band is under the Direction of Mr. Dustijn Hollon and led on the field by Drum Majors Aaron Henry, Alyson Even, Austin Davis; Drumline Captain Chase Lee; and Colorguard Captain Ian Sebacher.

SCHS seniors had a great week preparing for their futures! They celebrated "Apply Week" by applying to college, creating resumes, filling out job applications, completing the FAFSA, attending Build My Future, and more! Several students were big prize winners, but everyone got a small prize. Bulldogs are reaching for the stars! 🌟 😎 #rootEdMissouri

The ES celebrated the 1st Quarter by honoring students this morning at an awards assembly. Our character trait this quarter was “Respect.” A student from each class was selected for going above and beyond displaying respect towards others. The second award represented Bulldog Leadership. As a student of South Callaway Elementary we strive to provide students with leadership opportunities in our daily tasks. These students shined in those roles the past couple of months. Congratulations to these award winners.

SCHS students attended the Build My Future event in Jefferson City. Build My Future is an interactive construction career day that allows students to explore various career opportunities through hands-on activities and direct interaction with construction industry professionals. The activities included; carpentry, concrete/asphalt, heavy equipment, surveying, welding and much more. #rootEdMissouri

The South Callaway Choir traveled to Columbia, MO on Tuesday to record their performance at the historic Missouri Theater for the 2026 KOMU Holiday Choirs Christmas Special, which will air later this year.

The SC Pride Band traveled to Quincy, Illinois on Saturday to compete in the Octoberfest Marching Competition which featured bands from Illinois, Missouri and Iowa. They took first in Field Show in their division and also took home caption awards for Best Music and Best Percussion.
The Pride Band concludes their marching season next Saturday in Wardsville at the 2026 Missouri State Marching Association Class 2A State Championship.

FAFSA FRENZY

HS Commons

SCHS students visited Boone Hospital for department tours and hands-on simulations on Thursday. Students toured the Emergency Department, Cardiac Cath Lab, Operating Room, Maternal Child Health Department, and various other labs, imaging departments, therapies and the pharmacy. They were also able to rotate through various hands-on simulations such as VR headsets, baby simulators, bronchoscopy, blood pressure and much more! #rootEdMissouri

Several SCHS students attended the Callaway County College and Career Fair at Fulton High School today. They had the chance to talk with over 60 employers, colleges, trade schools, and military representatives. Bulldogs are busy figuring out their future plans! 😎

Congratulations to the SC Pride Band for bringing home 8 trophies from the Southern Boone Marching Classic in Ashland this past Saturday. Their awards include: 2nd Place Parade, Best Parade Colorguard, 1st Place Indoor Colorguard, 1st Place Indoor Drumline, 1st Place Field Show, Best Field Show Music, Best Field Show Visuals, Best Field Show General Effect. The continue their season next Saturday at the Quincy Senior High Oktoberfest Marching Competition in Quincy, Illinois.

South Callaway High School teacher, Mr. Darren Humphrey has recently been named a Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction by The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS). Each year, NSHSS student members are invited to nominate a teacher who has made the most significant contributions to their academic careers. For one of our South Callaway students, that person is Mr. Humphrey.

"Dedicated educators shaping the intellect and character of young scholars deserve our highest praise and appreciation," notes NSHSS President, James W. Lewis. We couldn't agree more! Congratulations to Mr. Humphrey on this well-deserved recognition!
